Course Description: 

This course focuses on energy systems and sustainable energy transition necessary to mitigate climate change and achieve other societal goals. It aims to develop skills for analysing national energy transitions from the techno-economic, socio-technical and political perspectives.

Learning Outcomes: 
  1. Understand the key concepts and principles of energy system analysis
  2. Understand the climate impacts of energy use and the essence of long-term decarbonisation strategies
  3. Understand the techno-economic, the socio-technical and the political perspectives on national energy transitions
  4. Be able to evaluate the feasibility of energy transition strategies, plans and targets
  5. Be able to analyse and project, with reasonable certainty, national energy transitions
