Disability and Justice

Course Description:

How should we approach disability philosophically, and what does a just society owe its disabled members? This course aims to find answers to these questions. Throughout the course, we will examine the following topics: disability models; disability, well-being and health; disability and theories of justice (metrics of justice, social contract theories); feminist perspectives on disability (standpoint epistemology, epistemic injustice, care ethics); disability and public policy ethics; cognitive disability and autonomy.
