Course Description: 

This course provides an introduction to comparative politics. It focuses on the state and its political institutions around the world and across regime type. All sessions are organized thematically.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course, students will be able to (1) understand the basic terms in comparative political research; (2) have sufficient knowledge to apply these concepts in their research; (3) be able to follow and understand the literature related to the subject matter; and (4) be able to follow theoretical and empirical debates about political developments in different political units, such as countries.
