Course Description: 

The aim of this course is to showcase the topics of the specialization tracks at an early stage in the curriculum, so students are well informed for their choices in the second year. The course will consist of seminar-style lectures, delivered by members of various departments, who will present important topics and research directions in quantitative social sciences in the fields of Sociology, Econonomics, Environmental Science, Political Sciences, and Data Sciences.

Learning Outcomes: 

Student will be substantially aware of the contents of the different specialization tracks, and will be in an informed position to decide which direction to follow in the following years.

Assessment: 

Students will be required to attend all seminars, for 20% of the final grade, and produce an essay in the end of the course, worth 80% of the grade, outlining the different directions presented, and providing a cohesive outlook for possible specializations.
