Course Description: 

Each semester includes 10-15 seminars held by leading external researchers from around the world. These are interactive seminars where the invited speakers get to present their latest research that they are working on, that has not yet been published. Both CEU professors and PhD students interrupt the seminar with their questions to learn more about the topic.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this course, students will:

  • Get to learn about cutting-edge research from top researchers in their field.
  • Observe and engage in scholarly debate.
  • Understand the evaluation mechanism of academic papers and thus be better prepared to write their own papers.
  • Learn what constitutes a good presentation.
Assessment: 

Students are required to attend all seminars which is monitored by sign-up sheets. Full credit will only be awarded to students who attend at least 80% of seminars. If attendance is lower, the credits awarded will be reduced accordingly.
