Methods Study: ICTs and the Environment

Course Description: 

Modern computer technologies are essential on each stage of environmental management process starting with monitoring, data collection and storage to decision support, visualization and presentation. The range of possible applications and packages is wide and depends on the issue under consideration and the level of computer proficiency. The present course helps students to identify ICTs required in their doctoral research.  The course might be tailored for individual research needs focusing on a specific technology.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course students should be able to:
•    identify relevant and assess applicability of various ICTs to their research;
•    acquire geospatial datasets and other related environmental information and process it in a way required for geospatial data visualization and analysis .
